    Welcome to National Honor Society's Webpage!
    NHS is more than just an honor roll. It serves to honor students who have demonstrated excellence in many important areas including scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Since 1921 students all over the country have been participating in NHS.

    NHS meetings will be held after school on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.

    Upcoming/Ongoing NHS Sponsored Activities:

    • Any community service hours that you accumulated should be documented and given as soon as possible to Sneha Raj/Anna Russell.  
    • Important note regarding meeting attendance:  Even though you give a written note to Sierra Castiglia (secretary) regarding any meeting absence, whether or not it is an excused absence remains the discretion of the advisers, Mr. Amundsen and Mr. Stout.  Two unexcused absences are cause for removal from NHS.

    • Keep your eyes and ear open for upcoming NHS sponsored events!  Check the bulletin board outside of the Main Office regularly!
     

    ***Remember, you will have had to participate in at least five (5) activities and also 15 hours of community service in order to maintain your eligibility in NHS.  "Community service" refers to any altruistic activity completed in school or outside of the school, designed to help someone in need.  Members will not receive any monetary payment or reward for the service performed.  Previous examples of community service include, but are not limited to tutoring, helping coach sports for younger children, helping the infirm or elderly, participation in Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts; candy striping at the hospital, volunteering at your local church/mosque/synagogue, etc.
